At Marines Service Co., service means something. Our founder, veteran Ray Toz, started this company with a simple goal: deliver high-quality work without the hassle. Since 2014, we've earned the trust of homeowners by sticking to what matters—honesty, hard work, and showing up for our customers every single time.
Ray didn’t start this company because he liked working with tools (though he does). He started it because he saw what was missing in the home service industry: real people, honest answers, and work done right the first time. After years in the Marine Corps—and growing up around men who served and then entered the trades—Ray knew exactly what kind of company he wanted to run: one that treats every customer like they’re the only one on the schedule.

A Legacy of Service
Ray grew up in the same house his mother and grandparents once called home in Ardmore, Maryland. Surrounded by a family of veterans and tradesmen, he didn’t take long to follow a similar path. He joined the Marines right after high school and served proudly. After completing his service, he naturally transitioned into plumbing and the trades—a world he had seen firsthand since childhood.
He eventually moved to Virginia in 2001 and later launched Marines Service Co.. From day one, Ray wanted the business to reflect the values he learned in the Corps. That meant taking ownership, showing respect, and putting the customer first.
Today, Ray still works alongside his crew. If someone needs help on a job, he’s there. If something isn’t right, it gets fixed. The goal is always the same: take care of the customer and support the team doing the work.
Our team includes veterans from different branches of the military, as well as skilled civilians who share the same high standards. Together, we aim to be the kind of company veterans can turn to when looking for a career after the military—and the kind of team customers feel good about calling when something goes wrong at home.
